Overview

The 2920 Interferometric PMD System replaces the 2820 as the state-of-the-art PMD test solution for optical fiber and cable production. Built for the production floor, the 2920 offers improved robustness and reliability while using the interferometric PMD measurement technique, the fastest method available, to perform single-scan PMD measurements in less than 5 seconds.

Beyond speed, the 2920 employs the generalized interferometric (GINTY) method. The GINTY method is widely recognized for delivering more precise and more versatile PMD measurements because results are not influenced by light source spectral shape or the degree of mode coupling in the fiber under test.
