The S14 Refractive Index Profiler complements optical fiber preform analyses by providing highly accurate and precise measurements of the refractive index profile of the drawn/extruded fiber using the Refracted Near Field (RNF) measurement technique. From the refractive index profile, waveguide properties and fiber geometry information can be obtained directly. The S14 is compatible with GIPOF fibers having nominal reinforcement layer diameters up to 490 um.
